Islamabad International Airport has been recognized as Pakistan’s best major airport for 2024, following a comprehensive audit conducted by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
The audit evaluated airports nationwide, assessing their performance in key areas such as passenger services, cleanliness, safety protocols, and baggage handling efficiency.
Islamabad International Airport claimed the top spot, outperforming Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport and Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport across all major categories. The report commended Islamabad Airport for its modern infrastructure, operational efficiency, and strong focus on passenger comfort and safety.
Among regional airports, Multan International Airport achieved the highest ranking, surpassing facilities in Peshawar, Quetta, and Faisalabad. The airport was praised for its enhanced services, cleanliness, and effective passenger flow management—making it a preferred hub for travelers in southern Punjab.
The PAA also acknowledged the efforts of airport management teams in upholding high standards. Special letters of appreciation were presented to the managers of Islamabad and Multan airports for their leadership and dedication to service excellence.
This recognition marks a positive step for Pakistan’s aviation sector, reflecting its ongoing progress in enhancing infrastructure and the overall passenger experience.
With both domestic and international air travel on the rise, the PAA hopes these rankings will foster healthy competition among airports and inspire continuous improvement across the country.
The audit’s findings demonstrate that Pakistan’s airports are steadily advancing toward international standards, ensuring travelers enjoy safer, cleaner, and more comfortable journeys.
