President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its deep-rooted partnership with China.
In an interview with Chinese broadcaster CGTN, he described Pakistan and China as “iron-clad brothers” who stand by each other in both prosperous and challenging times.
President Zardari praised China’s Global Governance Initiative, stressing that such efforts are vital for fostering international cooperation, peace, and development. He emphasized that countries should prioritize strengthening economic ties over relying on military solutions to address global challenges.
Discussing Pakistan’s economic outlook, he highlighted the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, calling it a transformative project for the nation’s infrastructure and economy. He explained that the new phase will focus on industrial growth, energy initiatives, and modern connectivity, bringing long-term advantages for both nations.
The President also underscored the significance of peace and stability in Balochistan, noting the province’s vast potential for development. Ensuring security in the region, he said, will be crucial for CPEC 2.0 to achieve its full potential.
Looking to the future, President Zardari expressed confidence that the enduring friendship and economic cooperation between Pakistan and China will benefit generations to come.
