137 Activists from the Global Solidarity Flotilla Arrive in Istanbul, Türkiye After Their Release

A group of 137 activists, including 36 Turkish nationals, were returned to Türkiye on Saturday after being detained by Israeli authorities.

The activists were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla, an international humanitarian mission aimed at delivering aid to G@za and raising awareness about the ongoing block@de.

They were deported from Israel’s Ramon Airport and arrived safely at Istanbul Airport around 3:50 p.m. local time, where they were welcomed by officials, humanitarian organizations, and supporters who commended their courage and commitment to the cause.

Organized by international activists and aid groups, the Global Sumud Flotilla sought to deliver essential supplies such as food and medicine to the people of G@za, who continue to face severe shortages of basic necessities. The mission also aimed to draw global attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis and urge the international community to take action.

The activists’ return has reignited global discussions on humanitarian solidarity and the importance of peaceful efforts to support those affected by the conflict.

Several international organizations have renewed their calls for unhindered access to humanitarian aid and for the protection of aid workers risking their lives in the region.

Supporters in Türkiye and across the world expressed pride in the activists’ bravery and resilience, emphasizing that such missions — even when obstructed — play a vital role in keeping global attention focused on the suffering of P@lestinians and the urgent need for peace and justice.
