CM Maryam Nawaz Launches Punjab’s First Mobile Police Station and Driving License Unit

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the province’s first-ever Mobile Police Station and Licensing Unit Project, marking a significant milestone in advancing modern, accessible, and inclusive policing across Punjab.

The initiative is designed to bring essential police and licensing services closer to citizens, particularly those residing in remote or underserved regions.

Through these mobile units, people will be able to register FIRs, apply for or renew driving licenses, and access women-focused support services — all without the need to visit a conventional police station.

Under this program, 33 mobile units will be deployed, including seven “Pink” stations operated entirely by female police officers. These women-led units aim to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for women seeking assistance or reporting incidents.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the project reflects her government’s commitment to citizen-centric, transparent, and compassionate policing. By delivering public services directly to communities, the initiative seeks to strengthen trust between citizens and law enforcement while ensuring efficiency and accountability.

The introduction of mobile police stations is being hailed as a landmark step in Punjab’s path toward digital transformation and good governance. It enhances public access to justice and promotes gender inclusivity by empowering women within the police force.

With this innovative project, Punjab takes a progressive stride toward establishing a police system that is approachable, efficient, and truly responsive to the needs of its people.
