Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced the full restoration of internet services nationwide following the successful repair of a damaged undersea cable.
The disruption, which had affected users primarily in Islamabad and upper Punjab, led to slower internet speeds over the past few days. PTCL identified a faulty repeater in one of its submarine cables as the root cause of the issue.
According to the company, repair work began on October 14 and was completed on October 15, under the supervision of an international cable consortium responsible for maintaining Pakistan’s global connectivity network.
With repairs finalized, PTCL confirmed that normal internet speed and stability have been fully restored, ensuring smooth browsing, streaming, and communication for users across the country.
As the operator of three out of Pakistan’s six submarine cable systems, PTCL plays a crucial role in keeping the country connected to the rest of the world.
The company reaffirmed its dedication to providing high-quality, reliable internet infrastructure and stated that it continues to invest in network resilience and redundancy to minimize the risk of future disruptions.
For millions of Pakistanis who depend on stable internet for work, study, and daily communication, the restoration brings welcome relief and a return to seamless online activity.
