The United States envoy to the United Nations revealed that President Donald Trump personally assured the Prime Minister of Qatar that such incidents would not occur again.
This statement was made during an emergency session of the UN Security Council, convened to address the recent Israeli attacks.
In his remarks, the US envoy emphasized Washington’s commitment to advancing peace efforts in the region. He noted that the United States would not only continue providing humanitarian assistance but also remain actively engaged in pursuing a long-term solution to the conflict.
The envoy stressed that US leadership is working closely with regional partners to ensure stability and prevent further escalation. He also highlighted the need to acknowledge the suffering of civilians in affected areas, pointing out that Washington is prioritizing humanitarian aid to support those who have lost homes, families, and livelihoods due to the violence. Protecting innocent lives, he said, remains a top priority for the United States.
The envoy further explained that President Trump’s assurance to Qatar reflects the value of regional cooperation in managing crises. Through direct engagement with Middle Eastern leaders, the United States aims to strengthen dialogue and prevent future confrontations.
The emergency session also included appeals from other member states for restraint and a peaceful resolution. Nevertheless, the US envoy reiterated that America will stand firm in its role as a partner for peace while continuing to address urgent humanitarian needs on the ground.
